Black Lives Matter street mural

Black Lives Matter mural in NY vandalized 3 times in one week

The mural in midtown Manhattan is located in front of Trump Tower. This past Saturday 2 women from Staten Island ages 29 and 39 were arrested for throwing paint over the street mural. In the attempt of stopping one of the women, a police officer got injured. Watch the video below.

  • The mural on fifth Avenue was painted earlier in July and has already been vandalized repeatedly.
  • Trump had critized New York Mayor Bill de Blasio for "denigrating" the area in front of Trump Tower.

The officer who slipped trying to stop the woman vandalizing the street mural, injured his head and arm. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition. According to the NYPD, the two women were charged with criminal mischief and were released with desk appearance tickets.

For the third time this week the Black Lives Matter street mural on Fifth Avenue has been vandalized.

President Donald Trump referred to the mural as a "symbol of hate". Mayor de Blasio responded to the president by saying the mural was "uplifting Fifth Avenue".
