Billie Eilish, The Beastie Boys, Wilco and other amazing artists have customized awesome Yeti coolers for a charity auction to raise funds for out-of-work live music workers. Live music brings happiness to millions around the world. We love the artists but we should not forget the important contribution of crewmembers working behind the scenes that make concerts happen. Due to the pandemic that put a stop to live music crewmembers are out-of-work and they need help to support their families.
This is the second round that Yeti’s One for the Roadies campaign, and profits will benefit Crew Nation a relief fund established by Live Nation that helps out-of-work live music workers affected by the global pandemic.
For the auction, Yeti sent out coolers to over 30 incredible musicians and bands and asked them to customise them with their personal style. All the proceeds from the auction will go to Crew Nation, with Yeti matching all funds raised up to $100,000. People can also donate directly to Crew Nation via a link on the auction page.
Billie Eilish embellished hers with her characteristic acid green Blohsh logo. It looks so amazing! Eilish loves to play live and she had to cut her tour short due to the pandemic at the beginning of 2020. With a new album due this year, the singer wants to get back on the road as soon as possible so her fans can enjoy her music again!
Her older brother Finneas O'Connel and creative collaborator also made a contribution with a personalised design.
While, the Beastie Boys rappers Mike D and Ad-Rock signed their cooler and stuffed it with cool merchandise, and Jeff Tweedy made and illustration for Wilco’s band as a bunch of yetis.
The first round of the One for the Roadies campaign took place in August 2020 and raised over $135,000 for Crew Nation. Eilish is participating in this charitable event because she is the kind of person who always gets behind supporting important issues. Let’s hope that this new campaign brings the much needed funds to support the music industry!
