Bill Gates announces divorce from his wife of 27 years Melinda

The multimillionaire entrepreneur and Microsoft co-founder just shocked the world with the news that him and his wife Melinda are getting a divorce after 27 years. Read more about it, below!

Bill's tweet started trending in the United States with more than  11.000 retweets in just 30 minutes.

"After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage"

This news shocked the world as they were seen as one of the most stable celebrity couples and a life model to follow. 

Many users started talking about the engineer following the steps of the billionaire Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos that got a record divorce deal from his former wife MacKenzie of $38 billion dollars.

No official statement has been released yet,  asked for privacy as he asked for "space" to navigate this "new life". 

The couple is part of the "Giving Pledge" that involves donating half of their money to charity. It is estimated that Bill has 'only' $26 billion (1.37%) of Microsoft stocks.

"We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives."

One of the biggest concerns was their charity work, but it seems that it will remain the same. We are sorry for the breakup of this wonderful family but if it's for the best, we are glad for them.
