British author and screenwriter Joanne Rowling has had people talking a lot about her lately. The Harry Potter author commented a tweet and it rapidly became trending topic. Recently Rowling saw fit to publish a letter explaining herself and her views on same gender relationships.
- This isn’t the first time the award-winning author is accused of anti-trans. In 2018, she liked a tweet that referred to transgender people as “men in dresses”. The screenwriter began receiving threats from trans people on her Twitter account.
- In the recent letter Rowling explained how she was doing research for a book she's writing and for which she was taking screenshots on gender issues and accidentally 'liked' the tweet.

Recently she commented on an article titled 'Opinion: Creating a more equal post COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.' Rowling said: I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?'
Her fans were hugely disappointed but the author didn’t back down.
