Aespa wins 'New Artist of the Year' at the Gaon Chart Music Awards

The MYs are very happy to know that the aespa girls just won their second award for Best Artist of the Year less than two months after their debut and also have a record of views on YouTube with 100 million. Keep reading to find out more  

  • Aespa is a group of 4 members created by SM Entertainment and debuted on November 17th, 2020.  
  • Since the premiere of this new girl group and their announcement in October, there has been a lot of speculation and controversy surrounding its members but all of that ended with discovering their incredible talents and sweetness through their debut single "Black Mamba"
  • Karina, Ning Ning, Giselle, and Winter have stolen the hearts of fans of the K-Pop genre and in addition to this award, they are also participating in the Seoul Music Awards that will be held on January 31st, as Rookie of the Year.

The Gaon Chart Music Awards were held on January 13th, and the aespa girls took home their New Artist of the Year award for their debut digital single "Black Mamba."

In fact, SM Entertainment was very successful in these awards and its founder, Lee Soo Man also took home the K-pop Contribution Award for his contributions to the genre through the artists he represents such as EXO, Red Velvet, and the recent released aespa.

The 10th edition of these awards that highlight the most relevant artists of the year were hosted by Junior's Leeteuk and ITZY's Lia.

Actually, the awards were given a while ago, when the aespa girls received the accolade they were dressed the same as in the concert "Culture Humanity" that SM gave on December 31st and January 1st.

Now we understand why at the exit of the recording of the girls for this instance we could see Giselle coming out with a box.

They were the awards that aespa received as Rookie of the Year!
