The Oscar-winner actor welcomed his first child with his fiancée, the actress Rooney Mara. The baby is a boy, and we know his name and the reason for it. Of course, we will share this and the rest of the incredible facts about this new life with you! Scroll down for all!
Rooney and Phoenix kept Mara's entire pregnancy low-key. That's the reason why the news took many of us by surprise. Did you know this already?
They first met filming 2013's 'Her', in which they played a divorced couple. Joaquin thought that Mara "despised him" at first, but then he realized that she was just shy and liked him back too.
The pair got engaged last year. "She's the only girl I ever looked up on the internet," Phoenix told the media about Mara in November.
Victor Kossakovsky, the director of 'Gunda', a documentary that Joaquin produced, explained the Joker's player absence at the 2020 Zurich Film Festival by revealing the actor's new arrival.
"He just got a baby by the way," Kossakovsky said on stage. "A beautiful son called River." 'River' was the name of Joaquin Phoenix's brother that died in 1993 at age 23. Such a heartwarming story!
We are sure that this couple will enjoy this new journey as parents. There are no doubts that the little boy has talent in his veins with such parents! Congratulations to the family!
