For various reasons, there are Korean actors who did not have to do their mandatory military service, what was the reason for their exemption?

As you may know, in South Korea it is an obligation for every male citizen to do military service. This is because both Koreas are still at war and therefore need reinforcements in the army, naval, air and even social service at all times. So every man must abide by this.

Mandatory military service is a bittersweet topic for fans of Korean actors and idols, as they know very well that many of them take a temporary break from their activities to do so. Although there are actors who actually made it before debuting, others have yet to enlist and fulfill their obligation.

So from a year and a half to two years the actors or artists are on hiatus to belong to one of the squads and fulfill their military service, it is a moment in which the fans get a little sad. But they also tend to give them all their support because they know that it is also a difficult stage for Korean actors.

1. Yoo Ah In

Yoo Ah In was exept of military service due to some health issues, he was diagnosed with a bone tumor and his shoulder muscles were damaged too, that's why he didn't have to enlist in the army.

2. Park Hae Jin

Due to struggles with depression and social phobia, Park Hae Jin was exempt from military service, in this case it was a matter of mental health.

3. Jo Jung Suk

Since the father of Jo Jung Suk passed away when he was very young, he had to take care of his mother, and that's why he was exempt of military service, for his familial obligations.

4. Seo In Guk

Actually in 2017, Seo In Guk started with his military service but he was discharged just for days after the beginning of it since he got  a serious ankle injury and was diagnosed with osteochondritis dissecans.
